OUR MISSION
We believe in positive coaching techniques. Our coaching staffs are volunteers(usually players dads) who all complete Coaching Training with USA football and are certified in Concussion and CPR Protocols. Our goal is to teach proper technique, build team pride and self-esteem. We do not sanction humiliating criticism of our players. We treat our players with respect and we emphasize the discipline, but also the fun of playing youth football.
FOOTBALL
We are a private non-profit youth football organization, with teams for grades Kindergarten through sixth, serving the youth of the Forest Hills School district. Practices are held 2-3 times a week; days and times are set by the head coach. Practices last about 2 hours and, depending on availability, are held at various practice fields within the district. Practices start mid-July.
Games are held on weekends, either Saturday or Sunday, beginning in mid-August. Most of our teams play at least three games at our home field (Anderson High School or Turpin High School); the rest are played on our opponents' fields. Games last about 90 minutes. There is a small admission charge for spectators, set by the League. The first game is played in mid-August. We play about a 9 week regular season, lasting from mid-August into mid-October, plus an additional 2 weeks of Playoffs and Superbowls the first weekend in November. Teams may play more games pre/post season, which are considered Invitationals sponsored by other leagues.
We supply all uniforms and game equipment. You will need to buy football cleats, practice pants, practice jersey, and socks. You will receive a helmet, shoulder pads, padded pants, game jersey, and a mouthguard. Everything but the mouthpiece is returned to us at the end of the season.
NO BENCHWARMERS! We are a youth football organization with a minimum play rule. At the 1st through 3rd grades, to the best of our ability and contingent on game conditions, all players who have attended practice regularly and demonstrated knowledge of their position will play a minimum of 8 plays per game. (This is equivalent to one-quarter's play on either offense or defense.) (On rare occasions, a player may be restricted from play for disciplinary or safety reasons.) For Playoff and Super Bowl games, the "8-play" rules changes to a "may-play" rule, with no set number of plays promised. The 4th, 5th and 6th grade teams are more competitive. There is no minimum playing time promised, but the coaches do try to get all their players into the games. All players play at Invitational games.
AWARDS - Every player will receive a recognition from the league for the commitment and effort for each season played.
CHEER
Our cheerleading program is offered from grades K-6th. Practices normally take place twice a week at Ayer Elementary School located on Forest Road. We provide uniforms, which are returned at the end of the season to the league, and players are in charge of purchasing cheer shoes.
